WHAT WE DO FOR HOUSELESS FOLKS
We offer a couple of opportunities for transitional housing. These include our winter shelter, a residential program that opens for three months every year and can host up to 50 people per night. The program includes dinners, showers, and other support services.
For our HOPE program we count with a select group of qualified coaches that provide on-on-one support and encouragement to our residents. For seven months, these coaches meet weekly with their resident and function as a sounding board for their goals and progress in moving on to permanent housing. Our coaches maintain confidentiality and undergo monthly supervision.
We offer mandatory classes on issues of self-esteem, empowerment, and goal-setting. The women participate in classes offered by OnRou22, and the men take an in-house class that is customized to their needs. The purpose of these classes is to develop the residents ability to move on in life.
