Our winter shelter opens for three months every year and can host up to 50 people per night. The program includes dinners, showers, and other support services.
For our HOPE program a select group of qualified coaches provide one-on-one support and encouragement to a smaller group of residents. For seven months, these coaches meet weekly with their resident and function as a sounding board for their goals and progress in moving on to permanent housing. Our coaches maintain confidentiality and undergo monthly supervision.
We offer mandatory classes for the HOPE program on issues of self-esteem, empowerment, and goal-setting. The women participate in classes offered by OnRoute22, and the men take an in-house class that is customized to their needs. The purpose of these classes is to develop the residents ability to move on in life.
